Aerocon is a sandwich panel of two fiber reinforced cement sheets enclosing a light-weight core composed of Portland cement, binders and a mix of siliceous and micaceous material aggregate. What's more, these panels are fully cured. Their unique tongue and groove joining system facilitates rapid construction with minimum effort.
In recognition of its outstanding work in the development of Aerocon panels, HIL bagged the DSIR National Award for R & D efforts in Industry in the area of new materials for the year 2000, from the Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research, Govt. of India.
Prefab structures built with Aerocon insta panels are an ideal alternative for brick-wall constructions and other conventional wood-based material, primarily because they aid durable constructions with utmost speed. Aerocon prefab structures find ready application in construction of such facilities as residential quarters, schools, security cabins, checkposts, snack bars, petrol pumps, police stations and many more. These structures help promote rural connectivity by constructing rural telecom exchanges in remote areas.
In a classic case of passing the test by fire and brimstone, Aerocon prefab structures built for Reliance Petroleum in Jamnagar, Gujarat withstood the fury of the massive cyclone that hit Kandla port in 1998. Again, when Gujarat bore the brunt of the killer quake in January 2001, the Reliance Petroleum structures alongwith the Gujarat Customs cabin in Bhachau, Kutch district built with Aerocon panels remained unscathed amid the rubble and ruins of buildings that collapsed all around suppliers near ahmedabad gujarat.
A structural Study and analysis of Aerocon prefab structures in the aftermath of the quake by an expert of JNTU, attributed the following product features in support of its safety record:
- Light-weight Aerocon : Generates minimal inertia force and therefore contributes to greater stability.
- The innate strengths of Aerocon helps withstand tension, compression, shear and flexure.
- Aerocon 's unique tongue & Groove System Permits local adjustments for shock absorption.
- The Steel Angles connecting roof and wall panels provide sufficient ductility at the junction.
